The Indigo range of catheters have been designed as single use balloon dilation catheters and are intended for use in angioplasty procedures in the treatment of
peripheral vessel disease.

The Indigo Rx PTA Balloon Catheter has a single lumen at the proximal end (D) that is attached to the hub (F), this act as the fluid pathway. The catheter changes to a
double lumen 25 cm from the distal end. The outer lumen (B) continues the fluid path and allows for inflation/ deflation of the balloon. The inner lumen (C) exist
through the outer lumen to the distal end of the balloon (A) and is attached at that point, a radiopaque marker is attached to the inner lumen and is positioned central to the balloon, the proximal end of the lumen exits through the stainless steel single lumen section at the proximal end and is attached there.

The RX inner lumen (c) permits up to a 0.018” diameter guide wire to pass through the centre The inner lumen material is made from a tri-layer material with a PEBAX
outer skin and an HDPE inner wall with a bonding agent in the middle.

The single lumen section of the catheter is a plastic coated, stainless steel tube that is attached to the hub and allows fluid to pass through the centre. The tube
has a 0.432 mm (0.016” ) inside diameter and a 0.584 mm (0.023”) outside diameter

The outer lumen(B) is made from PEBAX. This material offers good bonding qualities as well as adding the required stiffness to the distal end of the catheter. Clearance between the inner and outer lumen provides a fluid path that permits the inflation/deflation of the balloon in less than 20 seconds when using a 50/50 mix of contrast fluid and 0.09% saline.

Indigo OTW PTA catheter has double lumen running from the proximal end. The inner lumen (F) is used as the guide wire path while the outer lumen (F) continues
the fluid path from the hub to the balloon and allows for inflation/deflation of the balloon (E)

The OTW inner lumen permits up to a 0.035” diameter guide wire to pass through the centre. The length of the guide wire used is longer than the length of the catheter
so that the wire exits from the hub. If the catheter needs to be replaced then an extension wire is used.

The inner lumen material is made from a tri-layer material with a PEBAX outer skin and an HDPE inner wall with a bonding agent in the middle.

PTA Catheter hubs Are injection moulded parts that are produced from a radiation medical grade poly carbonate. The 6 % female luer tapered fittings are designed to meet ISO 594. The hub has a printed identification on it indicating the balloon size.

Balloons are manufactured from PEBAX tubing. Further balloon expansion from the nominal inflation pressure is minimal giving a predictable diameter. The balloon is
manufactured in such a way that on bursting, the material splits along the longitudinal axis, thus preventing the material from hanging up (as in an umbrella fashion)
when withdrawn from the vessel in the event that the balloon should burst.
